Menopause can present numerous challenges, including physical symptoms like hot flushes, sleep disturbances, and vaginal dryness, along with emotional and mental health impacts like mood swings, anxiety, and difficulty concentrating. These challenges can affect a woman's daily life, relationships, and overall well-being, making it a significant transition period.

At The Melton Clinic Dr Sophie is the clinical lead for the menopause service. Sophie is a GP with specialist interest in Women's, Sexual and Mental Health Medicine.

She is passionate about helping women going through the menopause and gives women time to talk about their symptoms, be heard, and be guided towards the right treatment for them, with evidence based care, to optimise their journey.

Perimenopause and menopause symptoms can affect all bodily systems from dry eyes and skin, joint problems, low libido and mood fluctuation. Several women suffer for years without realising these symptoms are relating to their hormones fluctuating secondary to the menopause.

There are a number of hormone replacement therapy options and treatments available that have proven to be life changing for many.
